Varieties: Arinto dos Açores (>85%), Verdelho, and Alicante Branco Concept: On this island, vines have been planted for over 500 years in the crevices of volcanic rock, a mere 50m from the sea, where one can hear the “crab’s song”. After the devastating attack of phylloxera and mildew in the 19th century, the stubborn hand of man preserved a small pocket of vines that resisted extinction. This “Centenary Vineyard” comes from one of these vineyards, over 100 years old, which survived and became the guardian of exclusive Azorean grape varieties and a testament to traditional blending.
